Attorneys
We take great pride in representing you in your time of need against insurance companies and big employers who care more about saving money than taking care of you.
Aaron Ferguson grew up in Fargo, North Dakota—an area known for hard work and family values. Aaron applies these same values to handling his clients' claims. He has a passion and dedication to the law, which is why he has won while arguing at the Workers Compensation Court of Appeals and the Minnesota Supreme Court.
“It is important to me that my clients are well represented and taken care of in their time of need. I take the time to get to know my client and make sure they understand their case every step of the way.”
Aaron graduated from North Dakota State University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and a minor in chemistry. Before going to law school, he worked in construction for several years. His passion for the law led him to attend William Mitchell College of Law, where he graduated in the top third of his class in 2007.
Aaron has spent the last decade representing clients in workers' compensation and personal injury cases. In order to best serve his clients, he opened his own firm in 2014.

Profit v. HRT Holdings, d/b/a Double Tree Suites Opinion
Mr. Deangelo Profit was attacked at his job cleaning hotel rooms by a man who was suffering from mental illness. Mr. Profit was badly hurt and filed for workers’ compensation. The lawyers fighting against him argued that since Mr. Profit knew his attacker beforehand, his case wasn’t appropriate for workers’ compensation. Aaron Ferguson represented Mr. Profit all the way to the Minnesota Supreme Court and ultimately convinced the court to side with him and awarded him his claim. Ultimately the Supreme Court did not side with our version though acknowledging other jurisdictions have handled this differently.
Gilbertson v. Williams Dingmann LLC, et al. Opinion
Mrs. Shannon Gilbertson hurt her back while working for a funeral home. She received temporary total disability benefits. However, those benefits where cut off once she declined to return to the same company in a different position. Aaron Ferguson lawyers successfully appealed her case to the Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals. We then argued on her behalf in front of the Minnesota Supreme Court and helped her win the benefits she was entitled to.
Jeremy Lagasse arrived in Minnesota with the goal of putting down roots and building a successful legal career. He hails from New Hampshire, where he met his wife and completed his undergraduate degree at the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts, studying political philosophy and the humanities.
Before beginning his legal studies, he taught a wide variety of classes at a private school in the picturesque Connecticut River Valley in New Hampshire. There, he educated students ages 10-16 in courses such as algebra, humanities, astronomy, and United States history. His talent for taking complex ideas and communicating them correctly and concisely to his students served as a fine foundation for his litigation skills.
After moving to Minnesota, Jeremy attended Hamline University School of Law. He graduated with high honors and served on the Law Review. Following law school, he worked at two well-known defense firms in the Twin Cities. He developed experience looking at cases through the eyes of insurance adjusters and brings that experience to his practice fighting for injured people. He brings a passion for hard work and justice to the team at Aaron Ferguson Law.
Jeremy Lagasse is recognized by peers and was selected to Rising Stars for 2022. This selection is based off of an evaluation of 12 indicators including peer recognition and professional achievement in legal practice.
When not focusing on practice, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.

Lagasse vs. Horton, Aspen Systems, Inc. Opinion
Mr. Jeremy Horton suffered catastrophic injuries when he was run over by a garbage truck at work. He had spinal fractures, rib fractures, nerve damage, and substantial loss of the use of his right arm. Despite his injuries, the insurance company denied his entitlement to a permanent disability rating assigned by his doctor. When Jeremy sued the insurance company, the defense expert ended up siding with the treating doctor and Jeremy won. When Jeremy attempted to collect his attorney fees, they objected and Jeremy prevailed at the trial court but lost at the Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals because of their failure to understand the standard for reviewing trial court decisions and their propensity to apply rules that don't follow the Workers' Compensation Act. On appeal, Jeremy convinced the Minnesota Supreme Court to determine he was entitled to his fees and instructed the Workers' Compensation Court of Appeals on the proper application of the standard of review for cases on appeal.
